Varanger is the kingdom of the Northern lights.  Northern Lights: The best place on earth to see them. They tend to begin as a weak, pale green band,  which suddenly begins to dance. The green becomes strong, with an edging of pink. The bands’ ripple and flow, billowing like curtains. Two or three bands cover the sky. If you´re lucky, the sky explodes in a Corona, with bands of deep purple electric green, baby pink and white radiating from a centre in constant movement. Nowhere, else on earth ses moe Northern Lights than we do, and we do and have the mildest winters in the aurora belt.

What, one o’clock in the morning and the sun is shining? A summer’s day lasts for weeks north of the Arctic Circle, filling locals and visitors with joy, energy, and a positive mindset. The midnight sun means that the sun is above the horizon at midnight. And the rest of the night. And all day.

In fact, the sun doesn´t stop for 1800 hours at the North Cape. We are talking weeks of beautiful, energizing, light. it´s hard to explain until you´ve experienced it.
